Our Story

The Healing Forest was founded in 2020 by Dr. Henry Lin, a medical doctor from Taiwan and a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. With more and more successful treatments, patients from Calgary and beyond have come to The Healing Forest in search of alternative solutions to their health issues. The rapid growth of the clinic has turned this once-solo-venture into a full-grown company. In 2025, The Healing Forest is moving to a permanent location in the beautiful neighborhood of Sage Hill in NW Calgary. The Healing Forest has since expanded into a multidisciplinary clinic, including doctors and practitioners from the fields of naturopathy, beauty acupuncture, and traditional Chinese medicine. Most acupuncture doctors at The Healing Forest have undergone traditional classic schooling of traditional Chinese Medicine through Dr. Henry, who has dedicated his own personal time to spreading this type of training in Calgary. The clinic differs from Western medical practices as traditional Chinese medicine is geared towards tailored treatment plans for individuals rather than using a “one size fits all” concept. The vision of The Healing Forest is to utilize holistic treatment methods to help every patient resolve their health issues. The doctors and practitioners at The Healing Forest believe in targeting the root of health issues rather than focusing on treating symptoms, to ensure that health problems are permanently resolved. A successful treatment means that a patient will no longer rely on medicine or acupuncture in order to be healthy. The clinic is known for its capability to treat a wide range of issues, ranging from common issues such as sciatica, insomnia, body pain, menopause, menstrual issues, or migraines, to more difficult cases such as mental health disorders, sleep apnea, autoimmune disorders, chemotherapy side effects, fertility issues, and many more. At The Healing Forest, many conditions that may be deemed untreatable by Western medicine might be treatable here! At the end of the day, The Healing Forest strives to create a legacy which honours the wholeness of a person’s health.
